As a rule, companies replace their hardware with a certain frequency, but not all these used computers have to end up in the computer graveyard. There are always people who need help, and if there are suitable partners, they will find a suitable solution for them. With the help of Bondora and Primend, Tallinn Free Waldorf School and Vändra Gymnasium now have 25 working desktop computers.
“Young people hold the future of the world! As a socially responsible company, Bondora wants to give children an opportunity to learn technical sciences as early as possible, therefore we will donate our old computers to two schools. We do it so that future technical gurus could develop their potential early on,” said Silver Koppel, brand manager of Bondora.
Schools need good computers and the opportunities to buy those are often limited. We suggested to Bondora that they should give their old computers that have been serviced and cleaned by Primend to schools. 25 computers with Windows 10 op system will be shared between two schools: Vändra Gymnasium and Waldorf School (MTÜ Haridus- ja Kultuuriselts Tuulemaa), the computers are ready to use, without requiring any additional investments by the schools.
“We are very glad that such an offer was made to Vändra Gymnasium and Vändra Music and Art School with the help of Primend. We have worked with many companies, and it is not common that in addition to already agreed products or services something more is offered to us. The computers we will get with the help of Primend will provide additional opportunities for the teachers of the music school and gymnasium to improve the process of hybrid studies. We hope that everyone will gain from that – nearly 300 gymnasium students and 78 music school students. We are grateful to Bondora and Primend for caring and finding ways to help schools and children,” said Marget Privits, the director of Vändra Gymnasium.
Sten Kaldma, the director of Tallinna Vaba Waldorfkool, expressed gratitude on behalf of the school: “We are very glad that such projects are initiated and completed in partnership. It is great help for our school and thanks to such projects we can significantly improve the quality of our ICT. Christmas came early for us this year and elves have been strong. Not every elf can give and deliver 10 computers. But two elves named Primend and Bondora managed that.”
Good thoughts and deeds are always worthy of noticing and recognition. “We saw an opportunity to do something for students and our partner Bondora readily joined us. As Bondora is exchanging their computer fleet for a new one with our help, we had an idea how to handle the computers that will be left over”, said the project leader in Primendi, Kristiina Vahter.
We notice and support our community. A move that may be small for one company is of great help to another. If the final beneficiaries of the whole process are children, the joy is even greater. We wish our young people success in acquiring new IT competences and great hunger for learning!
