Effective Digital Transformation at Primekss
Primekss, a company founded in Latvia in 1997, has experienced rapid international growth in recent years. Primekss is an award-winning leader in concrete technology. By smartly utilizing innovative technologies and collaborating with leading technical universities worldwide, it has created an excellent and environmentally friendly industrial concrete flooring solution that is highly regarded by major, globally recognized companies.
Until the fall of 2022, when Primekss began its collaboration with Primend, the company’s IT infrastructure was fragmented. Although Primekss was already a Microsoft client, the advantages and capabilities of MS licenses were not fully utilized. Primarily, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint were used, with other essential tools for daily operations sourced from different providers, for example email communication took place on the Gmail platform.
Now, 19 months later, the synergistic collaboration and mutual trust between the two companies have allowed for step-by-step optimization of the IT infrastructure.
-
IT Support Service for Employees
The first step in organizing IT processes was providing Primend’s technical support service, which ensures timely problem resolution and prompt handling of issues.
-
Improving Network Performance
In search of the most effective solutions to network issues, Primend optimized the IT infrastructure to ensure smooth, secure communication and improved productivity.
-
Transition to Primend Cloud
A meticulous and in-depth study was conducted to evaluate all possible scenarios for the most cost-effective server placement option, the establishment of a new server room and rental opportunities in a data center we arlso considered. As a result, it was decided to move the server to Primend Cloud storage. This solution is not only secure and convenient but also economically advantageous.
-
Full Utilization of Microsoft Services
The most extensive work in optimizing the IT infrastructure took place in December 2023—covering six countries and more than 120 employees, a complete transition to the Microsoft environment was carried out. The previous duplication of services was eliminated, and data migration and transition to a unified environment helped optimize it, facilitating business processes and daily work, creating a clearer, safer, and more efficient IT system.
-
Strengthening Security Measures
A logical and necessary step in addition to all the aforementioned actions was the implementation of appropriate security measures. The most significant include a central user and device management platform and a centrally managed antivirus system. For comprehensive security measures, Primend recommended the Microsoft Business Premium license, which provides robust protection at an affordable price.
-
Future Plans: Development in the Microsoft Environment
The primary focus in the continued collaboration between the two companies is to enhance automation and security processes, fully utilizing the tools available in the Microsoft environment.
Primekss employees are now actively using Microsoft Teams group functions, making internal communication within departments and teams more efficient and convenient. To elevate internal communication to an even higher level, work is planned for the implementation of the SharePoint platform, tailoring the internal communication platform to Primekss’s needs.
Before implementing each new IT infrastructure element, Primend specialists conducted an in-depth audit and careful planning to ensure that Primekss's daily operations proceeded as smoothly and uninterruptedly as possible during the IT process reorganization period. To reassure employees could fully utilize the new products, Primend experts provided introductory training sessions.
