Outside, the golden Autumn has been replaced by what feels like polar night and it is time to tie the last summer ends together. Today, we are talking about health and a healthy lifestyle. To date, we have organized a cross-company steps competition twice, where all three Baltic countries compete and step (walk or run) together. If only you could see the rivalry that is bubbling in the teams! In the spirit of supporting the health of the Primend community, we sponsored the disc golf club DG Massive this Summer. We have supported sports, health care and a cleaner living environment before, offering physical labour as well as our services or shown support in other ways. As the season has ended successfully for DG Massive, let's look at it a little.
Disc golf is a fun pastime for many, and a professional sport for others. By its rules, it is like classic golf, but instead of clubs and balls, discs are flown instead. Disc golf courses are on average 2 km long, but since the discs do not always fly on the perfect trajectory, sometimes you must walk a lot more, which can double the length of the course. Now let's do some math.
The DG Massive club has 12 members, and they played six tournaments. The sixth one was the longest, and together they walked an estimated 1.3 million steps. Now, let’s compare this with the September steps of the Primendians. 37 Primendians participated in the step competition and 8.7 million steps were walked or run together. A bit of a calculating and we get that 12 primendians walked an average of 2.8 million steps a month. Which in turn means that DG Massive would beat us pretty easily if they flew discs every day. Or maybe, there is room for thought here and Primendians should be handed a few discs in the Spring.
It is good to see that moving in fresh air makes people happy. Mental and physical health is maintained through active exercise and all activities are therefore more successful.
Accurate flight to your discs and plenty of steps!
